Meet the Team

Alexandra Staropoli

Founder and Principal

Alex Staropoli knows how to drive policy change that centers equity and puts people first. She has led advocacy, strategy, and communications for some of New Jersey's most consequential racial and social justice campaigns—from criminal justice reform and harm reduction to housing and public health.

Before founding Staropoli Strategies, Alex served as Managing Director of External Affairs at Fair Share Housing Center, where she led cross-team strategy and directed policy and communications for one of New Jersey's premier civil rights organizations. Over the past decade, she has held leadership roles across the advocacy landscape—working with nonprofits, grassroots coalitions, and government agencies to transform the systems that perpetuate injustice. Her work is deeply rooted in community, always focused on building collective power and advancing structural change.

A trained attorney with a systems-thinking mindset, Alex understands how policy, politics, and narrative come together to shape outcomes. She partners with mission-driven leaders and organizations to translate bold ideas into strategic, actionable campaigns—while ensuring those most impacted remain at the center of the work. Whether she's designing policy strategy or shifting public narratives, Alex brings a steady focus on building a more just and equitable world.

Alex holds a B.S. in Family Science and a J.D. from the University of Maryland. She lives in Collingswood with her husband and two children.
